Aw, they look sad. great shot!

lilly 6/10/09, 7:37 AM

You seem to either visit Germany a lot or just love the country because you've had quite a few pictures from there. I love this country and I hope to revisit it one day.

TexasRed 6/10/09, 7:45 AM

beautiful statutes, but they do look sad! What type of building are they part of?

Beth F 6/10/09, 7:52 AM

TexasRed: This was a standalone fountain. Each niche (I think there were six) held a sad child.

Very nice!

Sandy Nawrot 6/10/09, 8:23 AM

The one on the right reminds me of my kids when they were little. Especially the expression on its face!

bermudaonion 6/10/09, 8:52 AM

Both of the statues are sad looking - I wonder what the story behind them is.

Secret Mom Thoughts 6/10/09, 9:17 AM

Such sad little statues.

cheesecakepoi 6/10/09, 10:19 AM

Lovely shot. Happy WW, I played this week too.

Margot 6/10/09, 10:24 AM

They look so real. I love the way the statues are a lighter color from the background. It makes them stand out.

BK 6/10/09, 10:42 AM

Interesting statues. It would be nice to see all six of them. :)

lareine 6/10/09, 10:50 AM

this is the first time i've seen sad looking statues for a fountain... and i guess, the water droplets are their tears... but sad or happy, these are great photos for we can see the details:)...

Sue 6/10/09, 10:55 AM

Cool fountains. Happy WW!

infiniteshelf 6/10/09, 12:21 PM

These look both sad and beautiful! Great pictures!

Stephanie 6/10/09, 12:42 PM

Beautiful, but the child on the right looks so sad! The one on the left might just be pensive. I wonder what's on her mind--?

Thanks for stopping by my WW post!

Stephanie 6/10/09, 12:44 PM

P.S. Great idea to include the location where the photo was taken!

Literary Feline 6/10/09, 12:51 PM

Beautiful photos, Beth. They are so similar and yet so very different.

Stan 6/10/09, 1:08 PM

Creative fountain and cute little kids, but I've always thought there was something a little weird about statues of children. They're supposed to be alive, not frozen in stone like us old codgers.

Deb 6/10/09, 1:54 PM

Hi ~ Thanks for leaving a comment over at my place. I almost posted a picture today of a child statue that I saw on vacation in Vt. last summer - changed my mind at the last moment. Excellent details and contrast in your photo. These would make great story starters if I were still teaching.

4 Lettre Words 6/10/09, 2:23 PM

Very beautiful...and touching.

Happy WW!

Nicole 6/10/09, 2:54 PM

I think I missed something. Only one of them looked sad to me.

Liz 6/10/09, 3:49 PM

The one on the left is kind of cute, but the one on the right is downright creepy looking!

kaye 6/10/09, 5:07 PM

such an interesting fountain, I can't tell if they are cherubs or mischeivious children. thanks for stopping by

Melody 6/10/09, 9:52 PM

Wow! That's awesome!

dianne - bunny trails 6/11/09, 12:02 AM

Lovely statues. Very nicely shot.

Veens 6/11/09, 2:24 AM

I felt sad the instant I saw the pics... I can't explain the reason though :)

Robin 6/12/09, 3:33 PM

What realistic, and yes, sad, faces they have.

Dar 6/13/09, 4:15 PM

These are just great!

Jenners 6/13/09, 9:21 PM

So interesting! These would make a great cover for a book of some kind!

Kailana 6/13/09, 10:03 PM

Great pictures! Even if I am a little late saying so!

The Bumbles 6/14/09, 1:35 AM

Beth - that is very cool. Our neighbors hail from Germany and go to visit every couple of years. They bring back such wonderful shots like this.

S. Krishna 6/17/09, 10:39 AM

Wow, these shots are beautiful yet kind of creepy!
