BBAW: Feeding My Addiction and Giveaway

Wow! Can it really be day 4 of BBAW? Here is today's meme:

Today we encourage you to blog about a book you read only because you discovered it on another book blog. Preferably, this will be a book you loved! You might also write a bit about the blog you discovered it on!

A good percentage of my TBR pile is a direct result of book bloggers' recommendations. Here are just a few that I've read thanks to a book blogger. And guess what? The reviews that introduced me to the novels were honest, and I know I can trust these bloggers in the future. (For my review, click on the author.)

I read Testimony by Anita Shreve because Jackie (Farm Lane Books) and Sandy (You've Gotta Read This) gave the audiobook their mark of approval.

I read the Bones series by Jeff Smith because Laza (Gimme More Books!) and Alea talked me into joining the Graphic Novel Challenge.

I read Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy by Gary D. Schmidt because Kathy (Bermudaonion's Weblog) wrote a fascinating review, complete with a video.

I read Nothing but Ghosts by Beth Kephart because Amy of My Friend Amy had such wonderful things to say about Beth and her writing.

I read Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson because Alea (Pop Culture Junkie) wrote such a great and honest review.

I can't complete this list without mentioning Amy of Passages to the Past. She may be one of the biggest contributors to my wish list and TBR. If you even remotely like historical fiction, then you should be reading Amy's blog. She is always up to date on the latest releases and re-releases. I really should zap her from my reader. . . .

Oh and please take the time to click through to the blogs that I've linked to. You won't be sorry.

Today's Giveaway (THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED)

Today I'm giving away two ARCs that have been reviewed by book bloggers. They are both books that I am looking forward to reading, but I happened to have an extra copy of each. The first is Stone's Fall by Iain Pears and the second is Blame by Michelle Huneven. To win these two ARCs, all you have to do is leave a comment here telling me (1) your email address and (2) the title and author of one of your favorite thrillers or mysteries. If your comment is missing this information, I can't count your entry. This giveaway is open all week, and I'll pick a winner (via random.org) on Saturday, September 19 soon after I turn on my computer. There is still time to enter my giveaways from Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Oooooooooooooooh coooool. :) It's hard to say what my favourite thriller is.

I really enjoyed A DANGEROUS FORTUNE by Ken Follett, which is kind of a historical thriller; and NOT A PENNY MORE, NOT A PENNY LESS by Jeffery Archer; and AND THEN THERE WERE NONE by Agatha Christie. Do those count as thrillers? I don't know.

My favourite thriller overall is probably THR3E by Ted Dekker, which has a funky twist at the end. OK, my mother saw it coming, but I TOTALLY did not.

I would love these ARC's, mysteries are just about my favorite genre. I am definitely a Patricia Cornwell fan so Scarpetta is close to the top, but The Bourne Ultimatum
by Robert Ludlum kept my blood pumping and kept me awake all night.

One of my constant regrets is that I don't keep better track of where I hear about a book from. I do with some, but not most. It makes questions like these hard for me to answer.
