Booking through Thursday

Here's today's Booking Through Thursday. See the BTT site (here) for the full explanation and for other people's responses.

Name a favorite literary couple and tell me why they are a favorite. If you cannot choose just one, that is okay too. Name as many as you like--sometimes narrowing down a list can be extremely difficult and painful. Or maybe that's just me.
Hummm, this is fun. And I know that with my first entry I'm beginning to sound like a broken record!
  1. Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy -- just because!
  2. Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane -- because I like the way their relationship developed.
  3. Roarke and Eve Dallas -- maybe because they need each other.
  4. Amanda Peabody and Radcliff Emerson -- because I love reading about them.
  5. Claire and Jamie Fraser -- need I say more?
  6. Sookie Stackhouse and Bill the Vampire -- because I seem to keep coming back for more.
Can't wait to read the other responses. I know I left out some good couples.

  2. I must admit, other than the first, I'm in the dark too.

  3. Eve and Roarke... **sigh**...

I may be the only non-fan of "Outlander" in the entire world, though. I bet Jaime and Clare show up more than once!

    Thanks for visiting.

  8. Well, my comment was going to be the same as everyone else's in that I only recognize a couple of them! Which, is a bad thing, because now I want to go and read all about the ones I don't know. And I can't add to the TBR at all right now! I'm seriously suffocating! :)

  9. Elizabeth and Darcy are from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Lord Peter and Harriet are from a series of mystery books by Dorothy Sayers.

Roarke and Eve Dallas are also from a mystery series -- by J. D. Robb.

Amanda Peabody and Emerson are from a mystery series by Elizabeth Peters.

Claire and Jamie Fraser are from the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.

Sookie and Bill are from a series by Charlaine Harris. These are basically mysteries and take place in Louisiana in modern times.

  13. I am getting so many good ideas from these lists. I'm adding the Outlander series because I haven't heard of them before. I love Peabody and Emerson - I have to go find their books now because that's just the type of book I need right now.

  16. Ooohhh I forgot about Sookie!! I love that series. I have seen Pride and Prejudice show up on more than one list - I am probably the only person in the universe that hasn't read that book or seen the movie - I have got to change that!!!
