Make This Movie
I'd like see to A Sudden Country by Karen Fisher made into a movie. I read the book before I started blogging, so I can't direct you to my review. It's about one of the first groups to travel the Oregon Trail and is based on the true story of the author's relatives. It is an insightful and frank look at how the journey affected the pioneers, especially the women. I loved the book.
I know nothing about producers and so on. But the people who produced and directed and filmed the Lonesome Dove mini-series would be my choice for this movie.
This sounds like an interesting book. I'm going to put it on my list (unless someone takes your suggestion and makes a movie first! :-)

ReplyDeleteHow have I not heard of this one? I have been drawn in the past to books about women on the Oregon Trail--they are true heroes in my mind and I often wonder if I could have done it?! I will be adding this to my never ending pile of tbr's. :-)

ReplyDeleteI've haven't heard of that book but it does sound interesting. Trouble is, they might romantisise or dramatise things but that's expected in movies I suppose.

ReplyDeleteThanks for recommending this book. This would be a good follow up to The Way West by A.B.Guthrie that I recently read. I love the pioneer/western genre. I haven't seen too many movies lately in this genre, so I'm voting with you on this one.

ReplyDeleteThis is a neat question. My question would be who making the film? Some books would make great movies, but there are so many factors involved. You know?
