Hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving had a great day with friends and family.Today starts Thankfully Reading Weekend. I don't think I'll get a lot of print reading done today because I have some cooking to do, but I do intend to have a book in my ears while I work in the kitchen. The goal is to finish up Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon.
I'm not sure how many print books I'll finish by Sunday but I have three novels at the top of my list for this weekend: The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova, The House on Tradd Street by Karen White, and Liar by Justine Larbalestier. Oh, and I'll likely get another audio going too, but I don't know which title I'll pick.
To see what other readers are doing this weekend, pop on over to the Book Blog Social Club and check out the Thankfully Reading Weekend post.
Great list! I picked up Liar from the library the other day and hope to get to it this weekend. Happy reading and thanks for coming up with this great event.
ReplyDeleteI love to listen to audio books while I cook. Have a great reading weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously wanting to read the Karen White books...Kindle maybe? I doubt I will get a whole lot of reading done this weekend. Weekends are always pretty busy for us. I'm all over that audio thing while cooking though.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend - audiobooks go perfectly with cooking!
ReplyDeleteI'll be really interested to see what you think of the Swan Thieves - I enjoyed The Historian, so am hoping it will be good too.
ReplyDeleteI am a quarter of the way into The House On Tradd Street. That is where I am starting the reading weekend off. It's pretty good so far. I am enjoying the casualness of the reading weekend! No pressure! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am also very curious to hear more about The Swan Thieves.
All three of your print books appeal to me. I have to pick up your habit of wearing an audio book in the kitchen - great multi-tasking!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! I'll be interested to hear what you think of Swan Thieves, it looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteThese look wonderful -- happy reading!
ReplyDeleteLet the reading begin! :-) I'm looking forward to my weekend of reading too. I decided I wouldn't do too much in the way of preparation or else I'll end up putting the pressure on myself and then fill bad if I can't accomplish all I set out to do. I do hope to at least finish my current book today though. I should be able to as I'm about half way through it now.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books and have a great weekend, Beth!
Some fabulous books there. I hope you get to read them all this weekend.
ReplyDeleteAudio is a great idea when you're cooking! I really want to read some of Karen White's books. I've been seeing them in many blogs. Swan Thieves sounds like a very good book. I have The Historian on my tbr pile.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reading and listening, Beth. I am hoping to read quite a bit this weekend!
Nice choices for your reading this weekend- I've heard really good things about Liar especially. Enjoy your reading and thanks for all the comments at my blog!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices!
ReplyDeleteI've finished the first of the three books I hoped to finish this weekend. Trying to figure out which to start next!
Your books sound great. I have heard quite a bit about The House on Tadd Street. I can't wait for your thoughts. Enjoy your reading.
ReplyDeleteI keep taking a peek in Echo, but slap my hands because I really want to finish listening to Fiery and Breath before I read/listen.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reading this weekend.
Oooh I hear the whole series by Diana Gabaldon is amazing. I want to read it badly! How are you liking it?
ReplyDeleteThe Swan Thieves! I want to read that novel, too! I hope that you get to it.
ReplyDeleteYou chose great books to work on this weekend! I've been reading along (though I didn't do a kick off post) but haven't been as successful as I would have liked. I've only gotten 1/2 way through Beautiful Creatures (which is excellent and I recommend already).
ReplyDeleteI hope the weekend continues to go well :)
Oh my gosh, you picked SUCH great books for this weekend! I hope you've been enjoying them.
