Today's Read: The Mark by Jen Nadol

If you were to see me on the streets of Asheville, you'd think I was just like any other sixteen-year-old. I go to school, I do my homework, I have my friends. Just a regular kid, you'd think. But you'd be wrong. In fact, if you really knew me, you'd be afraid to let me look at you, afraid I might see you . . . glow. Yeah, my special gift is that I can tell when when it's someone's last day on earth.

MizB at Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesdays. Here's how it works: Grab your current read; let the book fall open to a random page; and share 2 “teaser” sentences from that page. For more teasers, click on through to MizB's blog.
"But what if there is no changing things? You're going to call me crazy, but in a way it's a gift to know that we may only have a little time left. At least we can choose how to use it."

I didn't agree with her, but I didn't know what to do next. (p. 39)
