Unfortunately, his father and the rest of his ratty community doesn't understand, and Remy is an outcast. When he ends up in Paris, he stumbles across Gasteau's restaurant, where he secretly fixes a soup made by the inept sous-chef named Linguini.
Boy and rat team up in hopes of becoming the greatest of all French chefs. But will they be able to hide from Remy's rat family, the sleazy owner of the restaurant, and the fearsome food critic Anton Ego?
Pixar's Ratatouille is a don't-miss foodie film for the whole family. If you have passed this one by because you're not a fan of animation or if you thought it would be geared to too young of an audience, think again. Whip up a batch of ratatouille to quiet the food critics in your house, pour yourself some great wine, and then sit down to watch this charming movie.
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this movie....and have not seen it.
ReplyDeleteOff to add it to my Netflix queue ASAP.
This is a very cute film. We haven't watched it for awhile though! Kids are obsessed with Harry Potter right now. I'll be back tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI just saw this with my nieces a few weeks ago. Such a cute movie! I need to find a recipe for this dish...never made it, never even had it!
ReplyDeleteThis was such a sweet film! I watched it at the prompting of my friend, who enjoys cooking a lot, and I really liked it.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I have never seen this movie! I can hardly believe it myself.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the few Disney movies I have not seen! Will have to add it to the Netflix queue and watch it over spring break :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen this movie several times as it was a favorite with my granddaughters a couple of years ago. For some reason I didn't think of it as a "food film" until now. (Not sure where my brain is.) I'm going to have to watch it again just for myself and the food factor. That's hot a hardship as that's a fun movie.
ReplyDeleteI love Ratatouille so much Vance gave me the DVD for a gift! Great post!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm with Margot - I hadn't thought of this as a foodie film, but, of course it is!____
ReplyDeleteRatatouille (the film) is a favorite around here, and one of the few movies that all kids can agree on when we placate them with a movie in the car for those 4-hour drives to J's family.____
Thanks for the 'dinner and a movie' pairing suggestion :)
I've only seen bits of this movie, along with bits of The Tale of Despereaux, and they are hopelessly mixed together in my head.
ReplyDeleteThis is probably the only Disney movie I haven't seen... will remedy that soon!
ReplyDeleteRatatouille (recipe) is a great favourite of mine.
ReplyDeleteOh we just loved this movie! I guess it was the combination of Pixar magic, and the cooking, that really appealed to me. I don't like rats, but I'd welcome that one into my kitchen anyday!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this one yet, but I am a big fan of children's animation. I'll have to add it to my film subscription list. Thanks for pointing it out!

ReplyDeleteI saw this movie with my son and we both loved it! Remy is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteI have to remember this - I think it is such a fun meme!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Ratatouille! It really is very cute.
ReplyDeleteI hate rats, but I absolutely love this film! I bought the DVD the second someone brought a case out of the stockroom. LOL

ReplyDeleteI never thought of seeing this movie-however with your write up I may just rent it.
I know a couple of people at least who were a bit freaked out by all those rats in the kitchen, but I liked it! And ratouille is one of my favourite foods, so it was a double win for me!
ReplyDeleteYES ~~ You nailed it. I am not a big animated movie fan but I LOVE Ratatouille. Good movie, good food, good music, the lights of Paris...what more could you ask!?!
