If you enlarge the photo, the effect is better. This is a log from a diseased elm that used to be in our yard. My husband cut the tree down last year, but I just thought to photograph the logs a few days ago. I used a super-macro setting.
Interesting shot. Honestly, couldn't figure out why you were taking pictures of animal poop. :0 Then I saw the title. It gets more fascinating the more look at it.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a landscape - very cool!!
ReplyDeleteCool photo, Beth!
ReplyDeletelovely lines and textures.
ReplyDeleteDutch Elm Beetle! That's painful to look at but nicely photographed. I lost two mature elms to Dutch Elm disease two years ago and I still miss them.
ReplyDeleteThe photo is very impressive and interesting. It looks like a aerial view of the desert. But it is sad that the tree got sick and had to be cut down.
ReplyDeleteI would have never guessed that was wood, if you hadn't said. Looks like a landscape. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought this was animal tracks LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I would have known what that was if you hadn't told us!
ReplyDeleteEven enlarged, it looks like a landscape taken from an airplane. I love the shot (but not the fact you lost a tree to disease.)
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
~EdT.
cool! I couldn't quite decide what it was, something very close or something very far.
ReplyDeleteShame it's diseased but what a cool shot. I'd never have guessed tree, I love the textures, really interesting picture!
ReplyDeleteAt first glance I thought it was a close-up of freshly raked earth. Wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first looked at it, I thought you'd taken a picture from an airplane. Great perspective!
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing as Beth. If you'd asked me to guess what it was, I would never have guessed a tree!
ReplyDeleteThat's great - it does look like some type of landscape taken from the air! Nature is *amazing!*
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dawn, this does look like a landscape taken from an airplane or something. Very cool photo today!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say that's a knotty shot but its not knots, its rot .. ugh ..a very good ugh ..
ReplyDeleteWow. I would never have guessed if you hadn't explained.
ReplyDeleteWow. I agree with everyone who said it looks like landscape!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was an aerial view of a desert!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photo. I thought it was an aerial view at first as well. Neat. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. Happy WW!
