I love a good mockumentary and when I learned that Corked! was about the wine business in northern California, I decided to take a look.The film, by Ross Clendenen and Paul Hawley, looks at four vineyards as they get ready to compete for the prestigious Golden Harvest Award. As we travel around wine country, we learn truth about barmaids, producers, marketers, and tourists. From one-man operations to snooty faux-European chateaux, the cameras don't miss a thing. At first all seems to be running smoothly--albeit unconventionally--until a dead body is found in a vat. Tensions are high as we follow the wine makers to the gala event and the announcement of the coveted award.
For a fun evening, set out some cheese and crackers, open a bottle or two, and watch Corked! Maybe not the best movie I've ever seen, but definitely worth the watch.
Hmmmm... I'm not sure about that one. I don't usually have luck with mocumentaries. Just not my style of humor I guess.
ReplyDeleteYea, I'm a big fan of satire. :D The kids would probably even get a kick out of it because as a rule teens like to mock (but not to be mocked)!

ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun movie, I like mockumentaries, have to check it out! I made a mistake on my link title. It's not rustic guacamole or grilled calamari which was very good. But the title of the link should be South Carolina BBQ Sauce. Are you able to fix that? Sorry! The URL is correct.
