Today's Read: Waiting for Snow in Havana by Carlos Eire

MizB at Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesdays. Here's how it works: Grab your current read; let the book fall open to a random page; and share 2 “teaser” sentences from that page. For more teasers, click on through to MizB's blog.

I shouldn't have been surprised that New Year's morning. There had been plenty of signs of trouble brewing, of changes to come. Even a sheltered child should have known something was about to snap. Later in life I would think back to that morning and try to link it to earlier events, just to make sense of what had gone wrong with all our lives. p. 8

I liked your teaser, and have to admit that ever since I saw the cover for this book and heard a little about it, I have wanted to read it. I will be looking forward to your complete thoughts on this one.

Intriguing teaser. What did go wrong? And what about Havana? Sounds like an interesting read. There's just something about the glamour and decadence of Havana that can draw a reader into the chaos.

:)

It's easy to second-guess yourself afterwards but in the midst of something it can be difficult to figure out what's going on or to connect the dots.
I like this teaser. I'll be looking uo this book!

I read this for a book group a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it - it's a historical event I knew nothing about.

This has been sitting on my shelf for a few months. If I think of all the books sitting on my shelf waiting to be read, I might just have an anxiety attack!

Oh...that is quite the mysterious little teaser loaded with a bunch of foreshadowing. I have seen this book but know nothing about it. Will be looking for your review.
