Musing Mondays: Library Day

Here's this week's Musing Mondays hosted by Rebecca at Just One Page. Click through to play along and to see other answers.

How often do you visit the library? Do you have a scheduled library day/time, or do you go whenever? Do you go alone, or take people with you?

I go to the library once or twice a month, but I don't have a scheduled day. I like to go mid-afternoon on a weekday, when it's least crowded. I almost always go alone. I use the library's digital download services and databases many times a month.

For those of you who missed it, check out the Library Use Calculator I mentioned in the "Just for Fun" section of my link-up post yesterday.

  1. Because I am able to order my library books and have them delivered, I don't often physically visit the library. But sometimes, just as a treat, I do. I love to browse. The downside is that I always come out with more than I can actually read!

  2. Wow, Sandy! That'd be so cool if my library actually delivered my books. I'd use the library more if I didn't have to go into town.

  3. I forgot to mention in my post that I use the online catalogue and renew books online as well - when no-one else has reserved them! I don't like to go when it's busy either.

  6. I love going to the library. I go about once or twice a month too, take some time in the afternoon and browse the books - chatting to them, hoping to make new friends and catching up with old ones. I always go alone. It is my special time with the books, I don't want to be distracted.

  7. My library is just a few minutes away, so I find myself there a few times a week. I always have more than I could possibly read, but I figure it's a cheap form of entertainment!

  8. I feel so evil when i breath a sigh of relief that there are no noisy teens in the library. I pick times to go when I know they'll be in school and it's just so peaceful - the way a library should be.

  9. My library is to small and even though it is a short walk away, it is not worth using.

  10. i go more often but I usually just pop in and get what I need. I don't get as much time as I would like to browse and hang out

  20. I hate when my library is crowded! The front desk is right in front of the doors and gets a little claustrophobic

  21. Ladytink: Ours is the same way! That's one reason I hate going on Saturdays.
