You seem to either visit Germany a lot or just love the country because you've had quite a few pictures from there. I love this country and I hope to revisit it one day.
this is the first time i've seen sad looking statues for a fountain... and i guess, the water droplets are their tears... but sad or happy, these are great photos for we can see the details:)...
Creative fountain and cute little kids, but I've always thought there was something a little weird about statues of children. They're supposed to be alive, not frozen in stone like us old codgers.
Hi ~ Thanks for leaving a comment over at my place. I almost posted a picture today of a child statue that I saw on vacation in Vt. last summer - changed my mind at the last moment. Excellent details and contrast in your photo. These would make great story starters if I were still teaching.

ReplyDeletebeautiful statutes, but they do look sad! What type of building are they part of?
ReplyDeleteTexasRed: This was a standalone fountain. Each niche (I think there were six) held a sad child.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!

The one on the right reminds me of my kids when they were little. Especially the expression on its face!
ReplyDeleteBoth of the statues are sad looking - I wonder what the story behind them is.
ReplyDeleteSuch sad little statues.
ReplyDeleteCool photos.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot. Happy WW, I played this week too.
ReplyDeleteThey look so real. I love the way the statues are a lighter color from the background. It makes them stand out.
ReplyDeleteInteresting statues. It would be nice to see all six of them. :)

ReplyDeleteCool fountains. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteThese look both sad and beautiful! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but the child on the right looks so sad! The one on the left might just be pensive. I wonder what's on her mind--?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my WW post!
P.S. Great idea to include the location where the photo was taken!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Beth. They are so similar and yet so very different.

I think I missed something. Only one of them looked sad to me.
ReplyDeleteThe one on the left is kind of cute, but the one on the right is downright creepy looking!
ReplyDeletesuch an interesting fountain, I can't tell if they are cherubs or mischeivious children. thanks for stopping by
ReplyDeleteVery, VERY cool!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW! :)
Wow! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteLovely statues. Very nicely shot.
ReplyDeleteI felt sad the instant I saw the pics... I can't explain the reason though :)
ReplyDeleteWhat realistic, and yes, sad, faces they have.
ReplyDeleteThese are just great!
ReplyDeleteSo interesting! These would make a great cover for a book of some kind!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Even if I am a little late saying so!
ReplyDeleteBeth - that is very cool. Our neighbors hail from Germany and go to visit every couple of years. They bring back such wonderful shots like this.
ReplyDeleteWow, these shots are beautiful yet kind of creepy!
