Cornelia Funke Challenge: Wrap Up

Zoe's Book Reviews hosted the Corenelia Funke Challenge, which ran from November 29, 2008, to March 1, 2009. The goal was to read three Funke books. I finished this one just under the wire!

I read the following books. Click on the title to see my review (my rating is in parentheses).

Inkspell (A+)
Inkdeath (C+)
Igraine the Brave (B)

Inkspell was by far the best of the three because it highlighted one of my all-time favorite characters, Dustfinger. Inkdeath was a bit of a letdown, but it's a must read to finish out the series. Igraine the Brave was a charming children's tale that I recommend for any young girl.

I have Thief Lord on its way to me, and I can't wait to read it. I'm glad there are more Funke books left for me to explore.

My daughter could have played along with this one. She read Inkheart, Inkspell and Dragon Rider. We are on a long list for Inkdeath at the library. She keeps telling me I need to start reading her!

I have GOT to read these books. I've had her books on my shelf at school for years. They're tattered, worn, and in general dis-repair. But, as I tell the kids, that's a sign of a great book as it's been read by a bunch of kids.

Must learn from my kids and read these books soon.

Congrats on finishing! Unfortunatey, I will be one book short, because I STILL haven't gotten Igraine the Brave from the library (I've been on the wait list forever, it seems.) Oh well! I'll just post it when I get it, I guess. I'm working my way through Inkdeath right now.

I definitely agree that Inkspell is the best of the trilogy! The Thief Lord may be my favorite of hers. I loved the setting.

I haven't read her books in so long and I'd love to re-read the ones I've already read before as well. She's such a good author :)

My daughter fell in love with Venice while reading The Thief Lord — hope you enjoy it as much as she did!

Doesn't it feel great to complete a challenge, congrats! :)
