Commenting System: Update on Status

Oh no! Where did your comments go? No worries! I have them.

After two weeks with the Intense Debate comment system, I've had to call it quits. The system had so many features that I loved, but it also didn't seem to like my template or my widgets or something. It seemed as if every day I would have another headache.

I've saved all your comments and will be adding them back, one or two posts at a time. I've restored all comments from March 5 up to today. I'll work on the older posts during the week.

Thanks to all my readers for their patience during this experiment. I wish Intense Debate had worked for me, but it didn't. I would like to point out that other Blogger users are very happy with it.

I have to admit I'm not at all a fan of any third party comment application. I tend to run away when I see them. :/

That's too bad it didn't work out. I see a few blogs using this now and seems like whenever I try to comment it tells me I have been logged out.... but,I refresh the page and then it works fine.

What a drag! Both that it didn't work out, and that you have to restore all the comments after uninstalling.

Since I've been MIA for some weeks, I never had the pleasure of checking out your new system. Sorry it didn't work out though.

Sorry that it didn't work out for you. I am still giving them a shot before deciding whether to revert back to the standard Blogger comment system.

Bummer it didn't work for you. I am quite liking it, especially how I can respond directly to each comment (kind of like wordpress does)

Sorry that you couldn't get it to work. I hope that they sort out the problems and you can go back to using it at some point. It does look like a good system.

To be absolutely honest, I thought it was confusing. Too many choices.

You stuck it out a lot longer than I did. I lasted all of one day and got miffed with the thing. Yes, it seems like a good system, but it didn't work for me.

So it's over between you and Intense Debate, huh? I understand why. I'm still not certain how long I'll keep ID myself, but right now it (mostly) seems to be working for me. I may have lost some commenters, but I think I've picked up some others...who knows? I know some people who had trouble commenting with Blogger's comments too.

I'll miss commiserating about ID's quirks with you on Twitter, though :-).

Sorry that you had to give it up. I think I am going to keep mine as I have had no issues, of which I am aware. Good luck getting your comments reloaded!

I'm sorry Intense Debate turned out to be Intense Distress for you :( Hopefully they'll clean up the bugs ...

Truthfully? As a commenter using that system it caused a lot of effort on this end. I had to type my name, blog address and e-mail address each time. It didn't seem to remember me once I'd used it which was annoying. Anything that makes it more challenging for someone to leave a comment I don't think is a great system. So I'm glad it is gone, but sorry that it seems to have created lots of work for you to migrate those comments over.

How frustrating for you! The only comment system I really like is Wordpress', lol.

I'm sorry it didn't quite work out for you, but I'm glad to be still able to comment here. :D

I saw the Twitter chatting on all the issues that were happening. Sorry it was so frustrating for you but it seems like you've made the best choice by moving on and away.

I just hope Blogger gets on the ball and introduces threaded comments like WordPress!! What is their problem!!!

Thanks for stopping by. I read all comments and may respond here, via e-mail, or on your blog. I visit everyone who comments, but not necessarily right away.

I cannot turn off word verification, but if you are logged into Blogger you can ignore the captcha. I have set posts older than 14 days to be on moderation. I can no longer accept anonymous comments. I'm so sorry if this means you have to register or if you have trouble commenting.
