What a pretty door and doorway, not like all the prefabricated things in my neighborhood. ~ Calico Contemplations

What a door! Amazing, Beth.

Carol @ There's Always Thyme to Cook 3/30/11, 8:01 AM

What a grand door! Looks heavy to open.

Peppermint Ph.D. 3/30/11, 8:05 AM

Gorgeous! the size and color demand to be noticed :)

Nice to see I am not the only one that likes to photograph doors. Yours are nice.

Zibilee 3/30/11, 8:28 AM

Oh, I love this photo! And if I haven't mentioned it before, you take some amazing pictures, Beth!

When my daughter went to Europe last year, I think half the photos she took were of doors. They are so interesting and varied over there. Here--not so much.

Sandy Nawrot 3/30/11, 8:47 AM

I think we both have some kind of thing with doors. Love 'em!

bermudaonion 3/30/11, 9:00 AM

Wow, that door looks enormous!

Barbara 3/30/11, 9:21 AM

I so admire the workmanship and craftsmanship that went into this gorgeous doorway. The building itself looks ordinary but the doorway is stunning.

Anon 3/30/11, 9:52 AM

That's a beautiful piece of architecture:)

Martha@Hey, I want to read that 3/30/11, 9:59 AM

Someone knew how to design a door. It looks like it should have a door within a door. Beautiful shot.

Beth Hoffman 3/30/11, 10:07 AM

Ahhhh, such a grand old doorway. Excellent shot!

Anonymous,  3/30/11, 10:22 AM

Gorgeous photo. The door is so detailed, they just don't make them like that anymore.

Jen 3/30/11, 10:47 AM

Very cool photo!!!

Table4Five 3/30/11, 11:45 AM

Where is this? I love the detailing around the door too.

Kit Aerie-el 3/30/11, 12:01 PM

Gorgeous, strong, sturdy. I wonder, what is beyond the door.

Joy Weese Moll 3/30/11, 12:46 PM

Wonderful architecture photo!

Stan 3/30/11, 1:02 PM

Those Europeans can't just make a door. It's got to be fancy and massive or they're not interested.

Heather 3/30/11, 1:02 PM

What a gorgeous door! They don't make things like they used to, do they? I wish they did.

Jenners 3/30/11, 7:59 PM

Now THAT is a doorway!

Snowcatcher 3/31/11, 12:32 AM

Very stoic, especially with the grills on the windows. And yet, a safe place to hang inside!

Pam (@iwrtieinbooks) 3/31/11, 9:54 AM

Oh, this is just amazing. Love this. Thanks for sharing!

Dorte H 3/31/11, 2:38 PM

Beautiful - but sadly I know that they are not all as gorgeous as this one. (Ours is also fairly pretty though so perhaps I should... )

Marie 3/31/11, 4:05 PM

Wow. That's grand! Great shot.

Robin 3/31/11, 4:40 PM

What a wonderful arch over the doors, it adds a lot of character.

Hope your snow melts soon! Just when I thought we were done with winter here they're predicting storms for Monday. Feh!
