Believe it or not, I took this shot yesterday at dusk. I was walking through my yard and noticed that my roses were blooming -- in early December in the cold! I took a few shots, which were rather boring and I decided to try the flash.

Except for a bit of cropping, this is right from the camera, no special effects.

Roses in December is pretty cool. Nice shot.

Oh these are so pretty! The upside down ones do look like fairy skirts.

You would think down here in Florida, WHERE IT WILL BE IN THE STINKING MID-80's TODAY (I'm over it) that we would have beautiful blossoms everywhere. But not in my yard.

Wow.... I would think it was too chilly for them to be opening up... lovely...

Just beautiful and what a special treat on a cold December day! I just got a new camera (a good one finally) so maybe I'll start taking photos! LOL -- in my free time!

Wow, roses in December. They're gorgeous with the black background.

To have roses still blooming by December is a real treat! Lucky you!

That is a lovely shot.

My first question to you was going to be "when did you take that picture?" I can't believe you have roses in your yard opening up still! Looks like we're about to get our first snow of the year, so no more flowers around here.

What a delightful find in December. And a beautiful shot as always. Thank you for this.

Gee, my roses froze out weeks ago. It's nice to see yours.

You're so lucky to be enjoying these beauties so late in the year. And with a charming name too!

That shot is awesome. Just gorgeous.

Your title recalls for me The Flower Fairies. Happy thoughts. Thanks.

Oh, they are so gorgeous!

Robin 12/3/09, 5:25 PM

Wow, they are some hardy flowers. Pretty too. I like that hint of pink on the petals.

(Sorry for the lateness of the visit - I just spent the past two days preparing for the opening my new etsy store - my head is still spinning!)

Alice 12/3/09, 10:05 PM

Beautiful petals! Great shot, Beth!

Well worth getting nippy fingers in the dusky cold - nice shot!
